Giorgi Latso
Georgian-American pianist and composer Giorgi Latso (formerly Giorgi Latsabidze) has been called “a magician of impeccable technique” by Austrian Press. The Los Angeles Times praises his "internal wealth and ‘aristocratic' spirit” and Lie: Zeit his "transcendental technique and depth of musical thinking”. He has performed at major international venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall, Disney Hall in Los Angeles, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, NY Kaufman Concert Hall, Taipei National Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Center, Berliner Philharmonie, etc. Latso is a regular guest on radio and TV including K-USC, BBC 3, Rai Radio Classica, Classical WETA, Orpheus, Beverly Hills BHTV10, Imedi TV, Iberia TV, KTV Austria - which released and broadcast the documentary “On the steps of Mozart” about his life. Named one of Georgia’s “Top 10 International Public Personalities”, he is a winner of the Rubinstein International Competition, Spivakov Award, Menuhin Award, Supersonic Award and for his composing - Best Music Award at the Bologna Film Festival. His landmark recordings include Chopin’s 24 Preludes for which Rhinegold’s Classical Music praised his “extraordinary imagination and a musical tone rarely heard”., Liszt's 12 Transcendental Études as well as the Waghalter Album. From 2013-2020 He held a professorship at the Vienna Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Arts.
In 2013 he formed The Latsos Piano Duo with his wife Anna Fedorova-Latso. Since then, they have been performing four-hands piano recitals and concertos for two pianos worldwide as a piano duo and have appeared at musical centres and festivals as well as in scholarly conferences in Europe, Russia, America, and Asia.
Giorgi maintains an active schedule as a soloist, a collaborative performer, an adjudicator and presenter of master classes throughout the world. He performs a diverse range of repertoire, with a special affinity for American composers. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Since 2013, Latso is a Steinway Artist.
