“Ever since I first touched a Steinway piano at age 10, I have been enchanted by its sound. The evenness of its tone and feel make possible the subtle nuances which contribute to a beautiful performance. The bass is full and rich without being noisy. The treble range has a beautiful round sonority which speaks eloquently without the brassy sort of attack which one finds in some other instruments as a substitute for a pure lasting tone. I have a B and a D, both of which are enchanting. But I can honestly say I have never met a Steinway that I didn't like.”
